A few days before Easter we organized a playgroup with a bunch of ladies and kids from our ward. We met up at our favorite park, ate lunches, played and hunted for eggs. It was really fun, and the older boys helped the younger ones out.
We dyed eggs. We dyed them with Maddi and Eric at our house, with Grandma and Courtney and Ryan, and then again with our other grandma. We were egg dying and hunting fools.
And this kid, loves dying eggs. Every time we brought out the cartons and he saw them just waiting to be colored all over, he would flip out. Really flip out. We had to calm him down a couple of times because he was so excited. I was also worried that his face would get stuck like that.
We headed over to the Eagle Mountain egg hunt on Saturday morning. It was crazy. They had 24,000 eggs spread out all over the grass, sectioned off into groups by age. The youngest they had was 3, but we asked and they said as long as Ethan could do it alone, he could hunt. We had all the faith in the world in him, and watch Ethan egg hunting to see what happened.
And finally, we got one. :]
We were able to go see Rio 2 with Ethan's cousins and Troy's brother Kyle. It was fun to get to hang out with them, and get to reap the benefits of my mom's job, since we never get to do that in Logan. We can't go to the theater and not let Ethan play on the car games though.
After a nap and some snacks we headed to the annual Yager Easter egg hunt. This is one of my greatest holiday memories. I was so excited to have Ethan actually actively participate this year. And again, not interested. He just wanted to jump on the tramp with Grandpa. Which, almost killed my father. Ethan didn't like that Grandpa was old and tired and wanted to quit. :]
| And clearly, this kid doesn't think the world revolves around him. |
And Ethan hit the video games with his cousin Ben.
**Awesome side story: Ben had a friend over, and they were playing a game while Ethan sat between them with a controller. Ethan looks at the friend and starts jabbering on like Ethan does, and when he was finished the friend looked at Ben and quietly said "I didn't understand him." My crazy kid. :]
We got spoiled all around this Easter, and got some awesome treats, books, movies and games to keep us plenty entertained for the next long while. My parents just got back from Italy, and they also brought us treats. My dad bought matching Ferrari racing tees for him and Ethan, and being the loving grandparents they are, an entire gladiator wardrobe for my already dangerous son. But he loves it, and every time he finds it from behind the couch (who keeps putting it there?!) he yells "COOL!" and starts beating the couch, wall, or the shield I have to hold.
Easter Sunday was a little rough on us. Ethan was GROUCHY. So we skipped out of Church early, let him sleep it off and then enjoyed the rest of the day with family.
We did some more egg hunting with Corbin and Avery at Grandma and Grandpa Butterfield's. Again, Ethan loved every minute of it.
Oh Teeka, how we wish you could come to Logan with us. :]
