Birthdays in the Springtime!

This last weekend was Troy's birthday!
It was a hoot! :] We started off his birthday weekend by going to Tucano's for his free birthday dinner. It was delicious! I love Brazilian food! Plus, I improved my Portuguese vocabulary! We then saw a really strange movie, Limitless. Which neither of us would really recommend. Sorry fantasy drug, we just weren't that into you.
Saturday we spent the day doing nothing. I asked and asked what Troy wanted to do, but he just wanted to hang out and watch Baseball. (And the Food Network when he wasn't paying attention. :] ) Saturday night we met up with his family that is in town, and my family at California Pizza Kitchen. We had a delicious dinner! Troy got a lot of cool stuff from his family. His parents gave him some much needed new shorts and a nice polo. My family gave him some awesome headphones that we girls got for Christmas, that Troy was very much coveting. :] I got him the best gift of all! I originally ordered the mission photo book he made on shutterfly.com (we got a free one from David's Bridal) but, what he didn't know was I went behind his back, schemed up a great lie, used my little sister, and bought him an awesome Big Bang Theory Bazinga shirt. :] He loves Sheldon, and it was a very great surprise for him. Sunday we made the rounds to everyone's houses, got lots of great food, and even got to stop at Grandma and Grandpa Yager's. They gave him an awesome Subway gift card.
Phew. That was a lot! Here are pictures of Troy on his birthday!

In recent happenings, the sun came out in Logan today!! So I headed to Wal-Mart, bought sidewalk chalk for a dollar and myself a baseball mitt so we could play catch. These are our monsters:

This one is Troy's. His decapitated an innocent bystander. Then, Troy got distracted and starting drawing baseball related items. Which is why he lost the contest.

Mine is enjoying the top of the building he just tore off from the city he recently blundered.
Clearly, I am the winner.

WE LOVE SPRING WEATHER!!!!!

Butterfield's Gone Wild!

Not quite. But here is a photo re-cap of our Spring Break! We spend the long weekend in Vegas with Chad, Lindsay and the boys. We went to the WAC games as well. It was a blast!!!

This is the Statue of Liberty made out of Jelly Belly's!

This is the real (fake) one outside New York New York

This is us in front of the Bellagio, where I was scammed by an old man into taking a bunch of pictures.

This is the hotel/mall where they went on the Bachelor! I had to take a picture. :]

This was my early-birthday present to Troy!

We went to the Shark Reef Aquarium in Mandalay Bay, and we hung out with the Sting Rays for a long time. It was awesome!

This was a weird pregnant/ball holding/who really knew statue, but it is doing the actual sign for "pregnant," so I captured it.

The greatest way to enjoy an In-n-Out shake. Strawberry in one hand, Chocolate in the other.

We rode a train in Boulder City with Chad, Lindsay and the boys. Rex and Jay loved it! The train conductor came around and put it his hat on all of the kids for a photo-op.

Troy and Rex playing catch in the backyard. Troy loved having weather nice enough to actually be able to throw a ball around in.

Eli and Troy were buddies the whole trip. :]

Troy was so excited to ride the train. I even had to ask him to calm down a couple of times.

Yay for winning the championship!

Our last night in Vegas and our view of the Strip. (This was from a bridge over the strip, where we witnessed a real life drug deal. It was pretty late, and there were some sketchy folks around.)

La Vita Vera

The greatest thing happened today! In mine and Troy's Balancing Work and Family class The Food Nanny came and gave a lecture. It was so great! I learned a ton, and was so excited Troy let me buy her cookbook! Check out the Food Nanny here.

She even signed it for me!! She talked to me a little after class, about some of the ideas I had for our house/stuff we already do and was thrilled. :] She even kissed me on the cheek. (Definite shocker, but I didn't care.)

See! I love it so much it is already flagged with all kinds of little yellow things and all marked up. So excited to start using it!!

We also got something else great today, our printer! Yay! It finally came. Luckily before we went shopping I tracked our package so I made sure we bought paper while we were out. Unfortunately we need a USB cord, so it is not in working condition just yet. But still, look how cool! :]

This is Troy setting it up. :] He read the destructions in Portuguese. :]

Why don't you just marry it?

So the other day we went to a movie clear on the other end of town and this is what we discovered.

A) There is a "real" movie theater up here. You just have to travel a little bit. It was awesome! We went to a movie, and the first thing we both said was "This feels like a theater from HOME!" Needless to say, we have ditched University 6.

B) We discovered this adorable malt shoppe, but have yet to try it out. Stay tuned.

C) (This is the real important discovery) During this movie there was a commercial for this place called Zeppe's. It is an Italian Water Ice shop. Troy was freaking out about it in the theater, saying how good it was and I saw a picture that looked something like a Rainbow from Pace's in Bountiful, so I figured I guess we could try it out. So we did, today while we waited for laundry at the laundromat. Oh boy. It was great. So much better than anything I could have ever expected! Hence, why I practically had to make up an A-point and a B-point just so I wasn't only blogging about this new frozen treat we found. It was so delicious.

(These are our delicious treats, Gelata. It's the water ice, with vanilla custard. Just like a Rainbow, but dare I say, so so so so much better. )

All Troy has to say about this is post...."Wow. When you find something you love, you turn into the un-official spokeswoman. Those people don't need to waste their money on advertising."

No dear, they do not. Because I love Zeppe's Italian Water Ice and will shout it to the nations.
